A short public service announcement

As has been widely noted, Drama Crazy is no more. In honor of this tragic occasion, I’ve updated the section of streaming sites in my list of drama-related links.

It’s also worth mentioning that this shutdown doesn’t seem to be the result of legal problems, unlike the shuttering of other streaming sites. (I’ve posted about several of these here: Copyright and Other Dilemmas and When Drama Fever Strikes. Also worth reading is Beavergate, Mr. X’s insightful article on the topic.) Based on their goodbye message, it seems that the folks at Drama Crazy just got sick of running the site. It must have been a huge job, and updates there had been becoming increasingly rare over the past few months.

Thank you for all the good times, Drama Crazy. You’ll be missed.

  1. I took about a day to recover frm this news. Drama Crazy was my go-to since I can't access many sites in my corner of the world. and thanks for your links page, is most useful for a newbie like me!

  2. I am the same as it was one of the most reliable sites I have access to where I live.

It was amazing to be able to watch obscure Asian movies and random Anime, as well as some Kdramas which I just couldn't seem to find anywhere else (like 'Ma Boy' for instance), all of which I now have no idea how to source anymore.

This news was so incredibly sad....

  3. I'm always sad to see a site closing down, but to be fair I haven't really used them recently. The quality of the streams was always a bit poor but they were good for some of the hard to find dramas on occasion. However, I gave up on streaming a long time ago, and download everything now. I have so many complete dramas to watch on various hard disks that I have enough to keep me going for about 3 years!!!!

  4. I just heard... I'm so sad. For me, Dramacrazy was very important site because I can't access many sites in my country. I think I need to start praying for my favourite Gooddrama site. Thank you very much for the links.

  5. This isn't about Drama Crazy, but I just have to tell you how much I LOVE your random thoughts on Queen of Reversals--especially the wardrobe. Have you gotten to the episode where the kids make fun of her hair yet? I was dying during that one.

Too sad that you don't like Junsu--he was my favorite in the whole thing! I feel that way about the actress who plays the second female lead. Can't stand her in anything.

    1. The hair mocking scene was priceless, but my favorite moment so far was when the female lead showed up in a *parka* with a built-in floppy neck bow. It was like traveling back in time to my 1980s childhood, in the worst but most amusing way possible ;)

Anyone who was in Coffee Prince gets a get-out-of-jail-free card from me, so I don't mind the second female lead too much. That Junso, though, is too much of a doofus to earn my affections. I think it's the actor, though—I also didn't get his appeal in Last Scandal. Thank heavens for second leads!

  6. Dramacrazy was the only site which I used to operate...For me it was home of kdramas..I was so obsessed with this site...Unlike other sites downlaoding or searching for any kdrama was so easy. Now I dont know from which site I can download or watch kdramas......It is really a very bad news...

  7. First mysoju.com and now Dramacrazy T.T It will be dearly missed because I did go to it the most often out of the drama websites. It was a nice place to find older dramas/movies and they were really fast with posting english subbed movies that were just released. Hope a new amazing website pops up in the future.

  8. Oh my! This is terrible news.Exams just got over and i was so looking forward to drama-watching marathon and now this. Thank you @amanda for providing the links to other sites or i would be lost trying to look for a new(reliable) site as i always watch drama on "dramacrazy". If other sites closed down then it would be the worst nightmare for a drama-fan like me. If i could,i would pay and watch in dramafever but its not accesible in my country.
    Dramacrazy u'll be missed. :'(

    1. Your right, the site works!!But didn't the staff of dramafever give a warning in their closing announcement to not trust other sites under their name as they were surely shutting down. But even the layout looks exact.
