After more than a year of updating twice a week, I’ve decided to cut back and post on Tuesdays only. (But I will continue to add Random Thoughts whenever something strikes me. Shutting up isn’t my specialty, after all.)
There are lots of really wonderful bloggers who manage to make thoughtful, well-written posts every day, but I don’t know how they do it—between watching dramas and writing about them, I barely have time for personal hygiene. My obsession with Kdrama is by no means flagging, and I can’t imagine giving up this blog anytime soon. I just need a break.
When I started blogging here I never imagined that anyone would actually visit. But you do, which makes maintaining Outside Seoul incredibly rewarding. So thanks for sharing your time (and obsession) with me!
Everybody needs a life beyond dramas, is what I always say. I'm just unsuccessful at getting one. Hope your break is meaningful!
ReplyDeleteLife? What's that? I'll probably just use my time to watch more dramas =X
DeleteGood for you, although I will miss your Thursday posts! And I agree with you - whenever I get some extra time and think of all the things I should or can do - I always break down and steal some extra drama time. :) I hope you enjoy whatever you feel like doing. Thanks for all the fun posts. I'll just look forward to Tuesdays more! ;)
DeleteThank you for consistently putting out such entertaining posts twice a week for so long! I don't know how you do it -- I can manage one post every two weeks, at best.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break and less hectic posting schedule!
Thank you for reading! I think you made one of the first comments ever on this blog, so it makes me happy to know that you're still coming back.
DeleteAnd writing about dramas is sure easier than writing about books—they take so long to read! I'm not a big mystery fan, but that John Dickson Carr book you reviewed sounds great.
So Amanda is human after all! I don't know how you've done it this long. It's been amazing the topics you've come up with, always well thought out and presented with intelligence and humor. I haven't found another blog to equal yours. No problem with your cutting back but please don't stop! The withdrawal would be too great.......
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm human all right. But just barely ;)
DeleteBlogging is such an ingrained habit that I can't imagine ever giving it up—but now I'll have more time to devote to posts, so maybe they'll be better. (But don't hold me to that, because they might also be worse.)
Are you going to be posting drama reviews every other week then? I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Cyrano and Monstar when it finishes. I rely on your site for a lot of recommendations.
ReplyDeleteI haven't quite decided that yet. I may post Thursday reviews on weeks when I actually finish watching something...I just don't want to rush through a drama every week anymore. I'll definitely still watch lots of dramas and post lots of reviews, though!
Delete(I paused watching Cyrano after episode 2 and haven't picked it up again—for some reason I'm really ambivalent about its romance-of-the-week story lines. So far even his hotness Gong Yoo hasn't tempted me back.)
